With the successive lockdowns, express delivery of groceries soared. Two clients willing to start their company in this field came to ESCP Junior Consulting for a market analysis.
Our job was to help them answer those 5 questions:
- What was the economic model of express delivery services?
- Would this business flourish steadily after the pandemic?
- Was the market already saturated?
- What goods to focus on to make their company profitable?
- Was the district they had chosen suitable for that activity?
More than ever, listening and adapting was at the core of our mission: as entrepreneurs, they repeatedly came up with new ideas that redefined the scope of the study. Therefore, we implemented weekly meetings to provide them a tailor-made synthesis with the key insights they were looking for.
Our mission was divided in 3 steps:
- The study of the chosen target.
- The analysis of the economic model of express delivery services: average shopping basket’s composition and price, warehousing, purchase frequency…
- The detailed examination of 4 competitors already thriving on the market (Gorillas, Cajoo, Flink and Dija).
After 5 weeks of study, we concluded that express delivery was a highly profitable sector but with a cut-throat competition. That is why, in the recommendation section of our deliverables, we offered our clients two ideas to stand out on the market.
This mission was challenging but deeply instructive, and we can proudly say that our collaboration didn’t stop there, as they’ve just requested a quote for a business plan.
If this project echoes your own, do not hesitate to contact us, our quotes are entirely free.
